"As the head of the family should teach them in a simple way to his household."
Martin Luther in The Small Catechism

A New Lutheran Men's Organization
Now at Zion!
Throughout the LCMS, laymen are coming together through a group known as The Brothers of John the Steadfast. This group of men is committed to support the teaching of the pure Gospel in their homes and churches. They also want to make sure that Confessional Lutheran media can reach fathers so that they can catechize their children and lead their families.
A chapter of Brothers of John the Steadast is now at Zion, too! Once a month on Saturday mornings, men meet for breakfast at Zion to study Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions under Pastor James.
This Month
Our next meeting will be at 8:00 a.m. on October 25 (not the 18th as earlier stated) in Zion's fellowship hall.
Please contact Dan Burfiend at 517-610-3228 for more information.
Rev. Timothy Pauls:
Will our children stay with the Church?
It’s no secret that many youth stop attending worship in their high school and college years. What can parents and others do to encourage children in the Christian faith?
Listen to Pastor Tim Pauls' 45-minute session during the Bible study period at Zion Lutheran Church in Marshall on Sunday, October 5, 2008.
Author of several books for youth and editor of Higher Things magazine, Pastor Pauls gave a very informative presentation based on pertinent texts from Scripture. |
